Here's to Cheers! Thanksgiving Mocktails For All of Your Toasts.
Even virtual gatherings and celebrations are worthy of a toast. Check out these cheers-worthy mocktails from our new book, The Guide To Zero-Proof Cocktails!
Thanksgiving looks a little different this year for most of us. So, whether you are staying in with your immediate family or zooming the extended clan we think there are lots of reasons to toast to the holiday season.
A Breakfast Classic for Pre-Turkey Toasts
If you need a little something to enjoy while prepping the bird or while watching football on Thanksgiving Day, we have just the drink. Our classic DRY Bloody Mary is a perfect savory start to the day!
DRY Bloody Mary
Maple syrup
Kosher salt
Bacon bits
2–3 stems cilantro
6–8 oz. Bloody Mary mix
Tabasco sauce to taste
2–3 oz. DRY Cucumber Botanical Bubbly
Rim a Collins or highball glass by dipping the edge in maple syrup. Mix kosher salt and bacon bits, then dip the maple syrup-rimmed glass into the mixture. In a shaker or pint glass add ice, cilantro, Bloody Mary mix, and Tabasco to taste, and shake. Pour
into the rimmed glass and top with DRY Cucumber Botanical Bubbly. Garnish with a lime wedge, celery
stalk, and pickle as desired.
A Mid-Day Palate Cleanser
It's now mid-day and the mess in your kitchen has been cleaned up, you're dressed up to sit in the living room with the family and all that work has made you thirsty! Grab some of those leftover herbs and get ready for a non-alcoholic, tastebud tickling delight!
Herbs & Soda
1–2 sprigs of fresh herbs, like rosemary or thyme
Club soda or tonic
Smack a couple of sprigs of fresh herbs between your hands, and add to a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with soda or tonic.
It’s very important that you use fresh herbs instead of dried because fresh herbs have essential oils that are released when lightly muddled or smacked. Choose your favorite herb based on your preference.
It’s a deceptively simple drink, and utterly refreshing.
Dinner Time Mocktails With a Kick
It's time to sit down at the table or couch or on the floor and enjoy some time with a lovely meal. If you're trying to limit your alcohol intake this Thanksgiving, we have some fabulously spicy mocktails to try that are designed to pair with a great meal!
Spiced Chai Apple
Cinnamon sugar
1 dash aromatic bitters
1 oz. Bright Chai Syrup by Portland Syrups
6 oz. DRY Fuji Apple Botanical Bubbly
Rim a lowball glass with cinnamon and sugar. Add ice, a dash of bitters, Bright Chai Syrup, and top with very cold DRY Fuji Apple Botanical Bubbly. Garnish
with an apple slice.
Smoke & Mirrors
by Jermaine Whitehead
3 oz. Harney and Sons Smoke Tea, chilled
1 oz. lemon juice
¾ oz. simple syrup
DRY Ginger Botanical Bubbly
Add Harney and Sons Smoke Tea, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake hard
for 15 seconds. Strain into a lowball glass filled with ice. Top with DRY Ginger Botanical Bubbly. Garnish
with lemon peel. If you are feeling super fancy garnish with a cinnamon stick that has had the end partially burned and blown out.
