Mixers and Garnishes to Add To Your Zero-Proof Bar for Pride Month and Every Month

We're a week into June and that means it's Pride Month!

We thought we'd share some of our favorite recipes from our book, The Guide to Zero-Proof Cocktails but mix them up with some great mixers and garnishes from area queer-owned businesses and producers! Many of which can be found in one convenient package.

This year one of our favorites, Savor Seattle, has partnered with Seattle Pride to put together a Seattle Pride Box. We're just saying... order it now! It's phenomenal! Then get to mixing up these delish mocktails!

Don't forget the festivities! Seattle Pride is hosting a great Virtual Pride this year the weekend of June 26th. Make yourself a zero-proof cocktail and sign up here. Might we also suggest participating in Pride After Dark? You've never had more fun at a virtual event, we promise!

June means summer and summer means pineapple!

For our first recipe if you like things a little more tart and spicy we suggest swapping the chili simple syrup for Hot Dame!'s Chili Pepper Cocktail Shrub

What's more Seattle than coffee and rain?

Well, we'd kindly ask you not to rain on our parade but we will take the coffee thank you! Try mixing up this coffee recipe with chilled brewed coffee instead of whipped. Broadcast Coffee Roasters has a ton of blends and one is sure to make your mornings and happy hours happy.

The Coffee Cha-Cha

Coffee Cha-Cha

1 Tbsp. sugar

1 Tbsp. instant coffee or espresso (depending on your coffee preference)

1 Tbsp. hot water

½ oz. milk of your choice (we recommend coconut milk or 2% milk: the higher fat content makes a better blend)

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. chocolate syrup 4 oz.

DRY Vanilla Botanical bubbly

Chocolate espresso bean for garnish

In a bowl, add hot water, sugar, and instant coffee. Using a hand-held mixer, whisk until stiff peaks form. This takes about 8 minutes. Once the peaks form, add the cinnamon and whisk to incorporate. In a martini glass, add chocolate syrup and gently turn the glass to evenly coat the sides. Spoon in about ½ cup of the whipped coffee. On one side of the glass, gently pour in the milk and follow with DRY Vanilla Botanical Bubbly. Top with a dash of cinnamon and a chocolate espresso bean.
