How To Be A Better Host
Whether you’re the host or the guest at this year’s holiday parties, we can all agree: We LOVE to celebrate.
And while we’re still not fully adjusted to the time change yet (why is it dark at 5:00pm?) we can’t deny it: this is a magical time of year. With holiday parties ramping up, we’re ready to put on our fanciest outfits (or stretchiest pants – hello Thanksgiving!) and make a toast to the end of 2019. Whoa – this decade is almost over!
At DRY, we believe that everyone has a million and one reasons to celebrate, big and small. And if you’ve chosen to skip (or cut back on) the alcohol this year, you deserve to have a celebratory drink, too.
But have you ever been to a party that was lacking a nice non-alcoholic option? Have you been tasked with choosing between a glass of wine or a bottle of water? We’ve been there, too.
We’re here to put an end to boring zero-proof options, and make sure you’re ready to host your next gathering with delicious options for everyone.
Remember: Some may choose to opt out of alcohol during your holiday party. And that’s okay! We’re here to help you elevate your non-alcoholic drinks from an afterthought to a must-have.

While many of us gather together this time of year to celebrate the holiday season, there are so many reasons to celebrate. That job anniversary? Let’s celebrate it. Your kid’s first steps? Absolutely! Not sleeping through your alarm on Monday morning? Cheers to that!
We challenge you to find the joy in every day – in every hour – and be proud of everything you’ve accomplished this year, whatever that means for you.

People are cutting back on alcohol for a number of reasons. Consider the different reasons why someone may ask for a non-alcoholic option. You can show your support for them by including them in the party.
4.
Cutting out alcohol doesn’t mean skimping on flavor. We have a ton of ideas for delicious zero-proof cocktails perfect for fall! Try these gorgeous and fancy zero-proof drinks or these super easy and crowd-pleasing zero-proof drinks.

Here’s an easy idea: set up a bar with fun mix-ins with alcohol as one of those options. That way, guests can choose to opt in or out of drinking. Those who choose to drink alcohol will appreciate this as well, especially as the night goes on and they have to get themselves home.
We asked around for tips from a variety of hosts and party-goers, and Cecilia W. suggested this: “My favorite for parties (although it’s a bit more summery) is supposed to be a strawberry-basil margarita, but instead I make strawberry-basil lemonade (make a batch of lemonade, throw in cut up strawberries and crushed basil, let it sit for a couple of hours until the lemonade is a pleasing pink color) and then set out tequila for people to add if they wish.”
We have several more ideas for delicious zero-proof mixed drinks, including a Sparkling Lavender Lemonade and a Pineapple Paradise using Vanilla DRY. Or try this incredible Ginger Mint Cooler!

A round of applause for hosts! This is a busy season for all, and taking the time to prep for a party and accommodate all of your guests (your friend is gluten-free, your brother is vegan, and wait – who is allergic to onions, again?) is a tall order. But remember why you wanted to gather in the first place.
Face-to-face connection is special, and worth celebrating. Catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, swapping stories and recipes, and having a belly laugh – you’re making memories you’ll look back on for years.
Who cares if there are dishes in the sink the next day? It’s worth it. Cheers to that!
